The Kingdom Of Eswatini today announced the closure of six border posts linking it with neighbouring South Africa.
These borders according to a press statement released by Ministyr of Foreign Affairs are:
- Nsalitje
- Gege
- Sicunusa
- Sandlane
- Lundzi
- Bulembu
The five remaining operational border posts are:
- Ngwenya
- Matsamo
- Mananga
- Lavumisa
- Mahamba
Following the Republic of South Africa’s decision yesterday Sunday March 15, 2020 to immediately close 35 of its land ports of entry in order to contain coronavirus spread, the ministry wishes to inform the public that this affects six (6) of the eleven (11) borders which the Kingdom of Eswatini shares with the Republic of South Africa, reads the press statement.
So far Eswatini has recorded one COVID 19 case of a woman and is still waiting for results of seven suspected cases after twelve were cleared.
WOLRD VISION DONATES COVID 19 EQUIPMENT
Eswatini has recieved 500 000 surgical masks, specimen containers, disposable gowns and airflow tubing from World Vision today.

This masks will go a long way in fighting the spread of coronavirus as very little of country’s population is seen wearing masks in the city centres of the country.
BUSINESSES AND CITEZENS JOIN ARMS IN COVID 19 FIGHT
Local supermarkets and citezens have shown a “zero tolerance” to the spread of coronavirus in the Kingdom.
Customers are sprayed their hands from a free and compulsory sanitizer at the entrance by the security personnel of most big supermarkets such as Pick n Pay and Spar in Mahhala, Matsapha .
Shoprite U-Save on the other hand thave sanitizers by the entrance for customers to use and Detol liquid next to saniters for customers to buy.
Furthermore, petrol attendants in Rob’s Total Garage were seen wearing face masks whilst on duty.
One in twenty people walking in town were also seen wearing a facemask.
