The MTN Premier League and National First Division games are not returning this upcoming as players will be testing for COVID-19.
This gonna be the third week local football took a break as it did not resume the past weekend as expected due to Incwala Ceremony big day on Saturday over the past weekend.
The topflight league is expected to resume on match three while the lower division will be playing their second game of the season.
Already some top flight games have been abandoned as some teams were unable to honour them as most of their key players were suspected to have tested positive of COVID-19 disease.
Worth noting is that so far it is only Young Buffalloes who have come out publicly and confirm cases of coronavirus in the team.
According to yesterday’s Times of Eswatini, Buffaloes Chief Executive Officer Sandile Gwebu said the team was leaving 3 players as they were leaving for their CAF assignment that have tested positive of COVID 19 although he did not refer to them by names.
AS Vita, A Mountain To Climb for Buffaloes
A tough assignment lies ahead of Young Buffaloes in the CAF Champions’ League if they are to proceed to the group stages of the tournament.
Amathole will play AS Vita tomorrow at 4:30 pm local time which will be the second of tournament.
The first leg was played on the 22nd of December 2020 to a 2-2 draw at Mavuso Sports Centre.
Young Buffaloes come into the game with a crippled squad as 3 players have been left behind due to testing positive of COVID-19 while some keys players such as Sihlangu Shabangu and Ali Matse among others have been left behind due to injuries.
Buffaloes must at least win the game with 1-0 or play a 3-3 for them to proceed to the next stage of the tournament.
This however seems tricky for them as they conceded the two goals from AS Vita in the last five minutes of the game with former Mbabane Swallows forward Glody Lelepo pressing hard on Buffaloes defence.
